about

This song was named after a mishearing of a sentence by their Uncle Barry in Oslo in 2012.
They had a lot of fun recording this with Sam Comerford on saxophone, he was excited to try a lot of experimental techniques including putting a thundermaker into the saxophone. The twins originally met Sam on the 46a bus in Dublin. They kept meeting on the bus and one night circa 2011 they met Sam on the bus and he had his saxophone with him and the twins had a book of beat poetry and they played and read beat poetry all the way home and became friends who are still in touch to this day.

The song was a challenge Branwen gave themselves around creating colourful insults towards a possessing spirit.

lyrics

A Leper to Remember

There are faces in my window
When I try to sleep
There are places you go
Where you crawl too deep

There's a dead bird in my house
But he got there first
I light candles all around
But like you this hell gets worse

This feels like pulling teeth
The last pull of a cigarette
You're wound so tightly weaved
In the threads of my head and I want to

I want to, I want to forget you
Embedded in my wounds like a rusted screw
You're gangrene, you're dry rot, you're syphillous too
It's too late, I'm a state, I can't hate you.

Have you seen her tea-stained eyes
That old lace that her grandmother wore
Or her childrens ragged cries
Or the gaze that her lover tore

You have swallowed up my mind
Can't evict you from my head
Bloody obsession walking blind
In the threads of my head and I want to

This feels like pulling teeth
The last pull of a cigarette
You're wound so tightly weaved
In the threads of my head and I want to
